Passing 1-2-3

Passing and receiving a pass are fundamental skills that players must master in order to compete in game situations on a team. Quick and accurate puck movement can dictate the speed of the game and forces your opponent to try and keep up.

Preliminary results from the Colorado Hockey Institute 2007 National Coaches Survey indicate that 75% of coaches surveyed feel that players on their teams from last season need to improve their passing ability.  

Get a jump start on mastering your passing skills in an off-ice environment. This clinic will be focused on skill development in the following areas:

  • Proper use of hands, arms and stick
  • Passing
  • Receiving a pass 
  • One touch and redirect passing
  • Passing with movement
  • Special passing techniques such as indirect, flip, saucer, area passes. 
  • Fun passing games

Participants who complete this clinic will have improved passing technique and knowledge of the passing game.

This is an outdoor clinic which requires the participants to arrive with following equipment: Running shoes (with laces tied), hockey gloves, hockey stick, helmet with full face protection. All players should protect themselves with sunscreen prior to arriving and should bring their own water.

Who: Youth hockey players of all ages, (both boys and girls) 
When: To be scheduled
Sessions: 3 sessions, 1 hour per day

Space is limited to the first 30 participants who register.
